Getting Involved

Faces of Yolo Hospice

Art Exhibit
May 7–June 20, 2008

Opening reception, Friday, May 9, 7–9PM

Pence Gallery
212 D Street
Davis, California

It has been our privilege to work with two talented photographers to present these poignant photos and personal stories to you. As part of the Yolo Hospice mission, we help educate the community about issues facing us at the end of life. Education is our purpose in collaborating on this exhibit. It is our philosophy that, facing the end of your life is all about fully living the last part of your life. We wanted to show you.

The exhibit is focused on the people of hospice, those who are patients, their loving care givers and our dedicated staff. They all work together to ensure that each patient is able to enjoy the time remaining to them in ways that mean the most to them. We hope that through the photos and stories you too can see these wonderful people as we see them – individuals with strength, determination and life.

We want to thank the Pence Gallery, Megan Klugh, Eostra Yarrow, the participating patients, their families and our devoted staff for their assistance and participating in this exhibition.

Quotes

Ted Skiera
"I've worked for 20+ years in cardiovascular and oncology nursing, most recently working as a nurse coordinator in cardiovascular research. My work with Yolo Hospice has enabled me to focus all of my acute clinical experiences into caring for patients, and their loved ones, during a most challenging period of their lives."
